OUR PHILOSOPHY

Dentistry is craftsmanship

We approach every smile as a unique composition, balancing how it looks, how it works and how it holds up, with a craftsman's patience.

  • A dental instrument unit with handpieces and a keypad

    Artistry in Every Detail

We don't just fix teeth — we sculpt smiles. Every restoration, every veneer, every alignment is designed with an artist's eye for proportion, color, and harmony.

  • A dental unit control panel with handpieces and a cuspidor

    Precision Without Compromise

We choose our materials and techniques with care, and we tell you why. Every margin, every shade and every contour is checked before we move on.

    Care Beyond the Chair

Care doesn't end when you leave the chair. We plan your checkups and home care with you, and we tell you what we see at each visit.

WHAT WE DO

Comprehensive Dental Artistry

From subtle refinements to larger restorations, each treatment is planned with you and explained first.

  1. Cosmetic Dentistry

Veneers, bonding and smile design, planned around your own teeth and explained before we begin.

  2. Dental Implants

Replacing a missing tooth with an implant and crown, planned with imaging. Your dentist explains the steps, the risks and the other options.

  3. Teeth Whitening

In-office and take-home whitening, matched to your teeth. Some people feel sensitivity, and we tell you what to expect and what can help.

  4. Clear Aligners

Clear aligner treatment for adults and teens, planned by a general dentist. If a case needs an orthodontist, we refer you to one.

  5. Preventive Care

Exams, cleanings and the X-rays your dentist decides you need, so small problems are found early.

SOUND FAMILIAR?

Dentistry that explains itself.

If any of these sound familiar, you're not alone.

  • Rushed appointments

You feel like a number, hurried through with no real explanation of what's happening.

  • Unexpected costs

Surprise bills after treatment because nobody explained the cost first. We give you a written estimate before treatment starts.

  • One-size-fits-all care

Generic treatment plans that don't consider your unique goals, lifestyle, or concerns.

  • Dental anxiety ignored

Your fears are dismissed instead of addressed with genuine compassion and comfort options.

ABOUT US

Built on trust, refined by experience

Lacquer Dental was founded by Dr. Aylin Paredes to be a Portland practice where cosmetic and restorative work are planned together, by general dentists, in one office.

What began as a small cosmetic practice is now four dentists working side by side, and the approach has not changed. We slow down, show you what we see, and plan the work with a craftsperson's care.

We use digital smile design, imaging and guided implant planning because they let us show you a plan before we begin. They don't change the facts that results vary and that we go over the risks and your other options first.

YOUR JOURNEY

From consultation to confidence

Every great smile begins with a conversation. Here's how we guide you through the process.

  1. 01

    Step 1: Discovery Consultation

We listen to your goals, examine your teeth and gums, and use digital imaging to understand your situation completely.

  2. 02

    Step 2: Custom Treatment Design

We build a plan and a digital preview of it. A preview shows the plan, and results vary from one patient to the next.

  3. 03

    Step 3: Careful Treatment

Your dentist carries out the plan with attention to detail, and stops whenever you ask for a break.

  4. 04

    Step 4: Care After Treatment

We give you a home-care and checkup plan for your new work, and we see you again to check how it is holding up.

Words from those we've served

FAQ

Questions we hear often

Everything you need to know before your first visit.

What should I expect at my first appointment?

Your first visit includes an exam, X-rays if your dentist decides you need them, and a conversation about your goals. You leave with a written plan and an estimate before any treatment begins. Plan for 60 to 90 minutes.

Do you take my dental insurance?

It depends on your plan. We file claims for dental PPO plans, and before your visit our front desk checks your benefits and tells you what your plan says it covers. How fees work lists each plan type and what we do for it.

How do you help patients with dental anxiety?

We offer nitrous oxide, sometimes called laughing gas, which you breathe through a small mask while you stay awake and can talk to us. Your dentist gives it, a trained team member stays with you, and we check how you are doing throughout. We don't give deeper sedation here. If your dentist thinks you need it, we refer you to a practice that does and tell you who will give it and how you will be monitored. Headphones and weighted blankets are available too.
